The Client Service Department is headed by Lt Kwame Boakye Agyei Sarfo – OIC
Capabilities
- Histological testing using manual and semi-automated procedures.
- Quality assurance with internal proficiency programmes.
- Research capabilities in tumour development, congenital abnormalities and disease processes.
Services Provided
- Routine histological testing (Prostate biopsies. Incision and excision biopsies of organs).
- Screening tests for malignancies and tissue specific congenital abnormalities.
- Histological tissue processing and storage.
- Prognosis testing and routine abnormality screening.
- Total abdominal hysterectomy analysis.
Mode of Operations (Timings, Appointments)
Operating hours: Monday to Friday; 0800 to 1400hrs. Appointments: Not required
Turnaround Time
3 weeks from time of sample reception.
Sample collection
Sample taken at ward of admission of requesting client and transported to the histopathology department in a formalin containing container.
Training Capabilities
- Internship for medical laboratory scientists, National Service Personnel.
- Laboratory rotation/familiarization programme for residents.
