Pathology Division

COL HOBENU - OIC PATHOLOGY DIVISION

The Pathology Division is the laboratory diagnostic arm of the 37 Military Hospital. The Pathology Division consists of two major sub-divisions; the Anatomical and Clinical Departments. The Clinical sub-division is ISO 15189:2012 accredited whiles the Anatomical sub-division is licensed by the Mortuaries and Funeral Facilities Agency (MoFFA) of Ghana.

The sub-divisions are further departmentalized into various sub-specialties namely: Chemical Pathology, Microbiology, Client Service, Virology, Haematology, Serology, Blood Bank, Histopathology and Morgue.

Quality Policy

The Pathology Division is committed to promoting the Mission of the 37 Military Hospital by the effective delivery of Laboratory services through:

  1. Operating a Quality Management System (QMS) that integrates the organization, personnel, policies, procedures, processes and resources in all laboratory disciplines (tests) run in this laboratory.
  2. Using Standard methods to provide timely, accurate, reliable and highest achievable quality of test results for its clients.
  3. Reviewing its quality objectives to ensure continual improvement through innovative technologies, training and research to make it a market leader in laboratory medicine in Ghana.

  4. Ensuring all personnel are familiar with and committed to this Quality Policy. ISO 15189:2012 and requirement of the Southern African Development Community for Accreditation Services (SADCAS).

Microbiology

The Microbiology department is headed by Lt Col Kingsley Ackah.

Virology

The Virology department is headed by Lt Col D Opoku Agyemang.

Serology

The Serology department is headed byMaj KY Kissiedu.

Haematology

The Haematology department is headed by Lt Col J Boafo

Client Service Department

The Client Service department is headed by Lt Col M Asante-Addo – OIC & Maj C Banamwin – Deputy OIC

Blood Bank

The Blood Bank department is headed Lt Col Okoh-Bensah – OIC & Capt Nuoumah – 2IC

Chemical Pathology

The Chemical Pathology department is headed by Maj NB Koranteng – OIC & Mr Joseph Nii Addy – Deputy OIC

Histopathology Department

The Histopathology department is headed by Lt Kwame Boakye Agyei Sarfo

Mortuary Department

The Mortuary department is headed by Maj Isaac Doe Adukonu – Mortuary Manager & Flt Lt Cyril Kumi-Dwah – Deputy Mortuary
